This newly created role will report to the General Council, where you will lead and build the AML Compliance function from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll report to the firm’s General Counsel and lead a dedicated compliance team. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing and overseeing AML/CTF compliance activities
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the AML/CTF compliance program
  • Reporting on AML/CTF risks and controls to senior leadership
  • Advising on compliance strategy and contributing to program improvements
  • Managing a team responsible for compliance during client and matter onboarding
  • Liaising with AUSTRAC, external auditors and key clients
  • Delivering training and support to partners and staff on AML/CTF matters

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Strong knowledge of Australian AML/CTF regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing AML compliance in professional services
  • A proven ability to lead compliance programs within large or complex organisations
  • Hands-on experience with AML-related platforms and systems
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of risk frameworks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in presenting to senior leadership and Boards
  • Legal sector experience is preferred but not essential
